Heart-throbbing Short Film Released, 'KU's Journalism students' | KNO

At a time when the film makers remain busy in shooting conflict and love stories in Kashmir, a group of eleven Journalism students from Kashmir University have come-up with a short film consisting of a message for the society.

The film titled as 'Succour' has been written by Pardeep Singh Dardi and directed by Idrees Bukhtiyar.

Studying in 3rd Semester at Media Education Research Centre (MERC) Kashmir University, the 24 years-old director of the film Bukhtiyar said that the aim of making this short film was to create an awareness an among the masses.

"We mostly neglect the poor people who beg in front of us but among there are such type of people who in dire need of money to feed themselves or their families," he said.

"We tried our best to create an awareness to the entire world that a small contribute can't make you poor but can change somebody's life," Bukhtiyar added.

Dardi who has penned down the script of the film said the idea was a challenging one for him that has change his life completely.

"On my way to University, every day I use to see a number of beggars and where nobody would pay any heed to them. But then, I decided to write a short story over it and make this awareness to the public," he said.

"In beginning, it was very tough to set the thing on the track in terms of my script but later my colleagues helped me out and now you can see its result," Dardi added.

With the duration of 3 minutes and 18 seconds, the film has been shot at Boulevard and Hazratbal, the locations on banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar.

The film was released on social media last night and has received more 30,000 views so far.

The cast of the film includes Faisal Sidiq, Arif Zargar. The actors in supporting role include Rahil Hussain and Nazima Rashid. The film crew includes Useeba Bashir on sounds, Sheikh Saman on make-up, Tahil Ali on camera and Syed Jesarat, Faisal Hussain as Line Producers
